This webinar will explain the core philosophy behind structured literacy and how this applies to all of your learners.  It will also look at some of the misconceptions around this term and will develop a genuine research-based understanding of structured literacy methodology, including how it aligns with StepsWeb.

What’s in a name?  Well quite a lot, actually.  And some of it is not helpful!  This webinar aims to dispel some of the myths around 'Structured Literacy' and promote a genuine research-based understanding.

Ros will cover key principles and how they can best be applied within your school, together with some of the pitfalls to avoid – particularly with your dyslexic or other struggling learners. 

This webinar will cover:

  • The origin and background to the term 'Structured Literacy'.
  • Core philosophy and methodology.
  • Some misconceptions, particularly in the NZ environment.
  • Key principles and how they can be applied for your learners.
  • An explanation of how StepsWeb aligns with structured literacy.
